ALAA MUHAMMADIN' W               Muhammad and on the progeny
WA AALI MUHAMMAD                  of Muhammad.
 

BISMILLAAHIR                               In the name of Allah, the
RAH'MAANIR RAHEEM                Beneficent, the Merciful.
 

ILAAHEE ADHUMAL                     My Allah, irretrievable is our
BALAAA                                            plight, our helplessness causes
WA BARIH'AL KHAFAAA             pain and trouble, (now our)
WAN KASHAFAL                            urgency has been laid bare
GHITAAA                                         (before Thee), (all) hopes have
WAN QAT'AA'R                               been cut off, the (plentiful)
RAJAAA                                            earth has shrunk (with very little
                                                           to spare) for us
 

WADH AAQATIL ARDH'U            the heavenly blessings have
WA MUNI AT'IS                              been withheld, we call upon Thee
SAMAAA                                           for help, we refer our grief and
WA ANTAL MUSTA'AAN              sorrow to Thee, we have full faith
WA ILAYKAL MUSHTAKAA         in Thee, in the time of distress
WA ALAYKAL MU AWWALU       as well as in good fortune.
